Andrea Pfeil in her studio

Andrea Pfeil · Painter

Contemporary painting.

Andrea Pfeil was born in Eppingen in 1962 and began devoting herself intensively to painting in 2011. She works mainly with acrylic, oil and watercolour on canvas and raw linen, complemented by palette knife and oil pastels.

Her style unites expressive gesture with deliberate composition – intensely colourful, gestural and emotionally charged.

Painting intensively since 2011.

Artistic approach

Colour as language

01

The first gesture

Intuition as the starting point

Andrea Pfeil works intuitively: the first brushstrokes come straight from the gut, spontaneous and powerful. This energy is the DNA of every work.

02

Layers and contrasts

Deliberate composition

Over the intuitive first layer she builds carefully considered layers of colour. The illusion of space and depth arises from contrasts – not from perspective.

03

Colour as communication

Color Dialogues

“Yellow grows louder through its purple neighbour.” Relationships between colours, not forms, tell the story of each work.

“Between stillness and dynamism – that is where my paintings come to life.”
